I'd say that we have the capacity to feel sorry for more than one person at a time, don't you think?

I think it's a tragedy that people die of AIDS, I think world hunger is awful, and I think that the fact children die in wars is horrific. This does not prevent me from also feeling sorry for a celebrity who has been hounded by the paparazzi since she was seventeen, and clearly requires some alone time and proper care to overcome what appears to be psychosis.

I fully support her and hope she makes a quick recovery and is as happy as you or I may be most days. I also donated my entire tax return to the world food program. I have lots of room in my heart and head to care about several people at once, and I'm sure you do too.
